The sicilian cuisine is the expression of culinary art developed in the island since the Ancient Greece, which shows traces, handed down from generezione in the generation of all the cultures that have settled in Sicily over the past two millennia. It is often considered to be the most full of specialties, and the most scenic of Italy. Some of the foods most well-known, popular worldwide, they are the cassata siciliana, cannolo siciliano, granita and arancini. Thanks to its mild climate, the island is rich in spices and aromatic herbs; oregano, mint, rosemary, are a daily part of our collection. The fertile soil produces oranges and lemons in great quantities. Almonds, prickly pear, pistachio, and olives are other symbols of culinary in which the island excels.

Even the desserts spread since ancient times, especially the honey, which is extremely known, was one of the Iblei mountains, which were later processed, sicilian almonds to create another specialty, the nougat. The ice cream itself, spread everywhere in the globe, has sicilian origins, it is said that here, already in the times of arab domination, was in use to prepare a substance very similar to ice cream, called the sherbet (sorbet). The Arabs of Sicily, mingled with the snow of mount Etna and of the sugar cane and of the juice of the fruit, and obtained a compound which can be defined as the ancestor of ice cream.
